For Teresa

I decided to make a set of cards for my sister Teresa then I stumbled across the Stationery Box in the SCS Galleries and just ahd to try it.

I stuck a Ghiradelli Chocolate in the place of Postage Stamps.
So here it is.

The cardstock is Bazzil, Print is SU, Punch is SU Curvy Label
I used Sizzix Alum Die for the Friends Book. I created pages on the computer.

My new favorite flower

The local nursery was cleaning out the annuals, whatever fit in a box for $1. The box he handed me was quite large and I wasn't knowledgeable of annuals so I just picked odd plants.
This being one, and I went back a few weeks later after it had bloomed to get more!
I now know that is is clsely related to Hollyhocks.
I went up yesterday and talked to Bev about getting hollyhocks, which she is out of. Of course! LOL

But she told me that Lavatera could drop seeds!

That's a Geranium?

My MIL Diane gave me this plant.

She has this fetish for Geraniums which is a plant I do not like, the wind blows and it falls apart.
Well I was ooohing over this one and she informed me it was one of those things I don't like.

Any one know what type it is? I'd love to know. She can't remember where she bought it either.

Beagle vs Hen

THis is hilarious!
Our Joker is a 3 year old Beagle... A DOG!

 Our friends Judy and Leon gave Clint this hen a month ago and she rules over all the critters here. Our great hunter cat Louie is even afraid of her! Clint named her Francine

I toss bread and old cereal off the deck for her, the duck and the geese, so now when  i am on the deck she comes running. She has now decided if Joker is off the deck he can stay off!.

He barks at her and she charges at him! He will either walk away after a bit or sit down and whine about it!

Francine has even come up on the deck and either won't let the dogs or cats out, or in if they are out.. Max usually just leaps up onto the railing to avoid her.

A random fact

So far this year I have made 269 cards.
That does not include artsy projects or scarp books.. just cards!

I also noticed I haven't been putting all my card on here.. shame on me! LOL

For my Great Nephew Payton

I made this for my great nephew Payton's B'day this week. It's hard making cards for teenage boys! Little Boys like cute stuff still and men just like to be remembered, but a teen!

I spent a ton of time online looking at wolves and came across a site from the DNR. I never realized wolves just look dirty! LOL

I colored him using SU Pastels
his eyes are done using Spica pens

his layout came from Verve in 2008

I think it was intended for a 2 sided DS, but I did it using one print and 3 solids so I had more color.

All of the Card Stock is from Bazzil, the print is from Doodlebug Spring Garden 1996.
I have to stop hoarding the pretty papers! LOL

Big Bear

This is my first card using my newest Cricut Cartridge WILDLIFE

I am not too sure I like how the bears look.

Maybe I will do the layers the same color, just dimensionalized!

This is for the Stamp 2 Spend Color Challenge; Rust, Gold, Green and Brown
and Mojo 156

I Cuttle Bugged the Green & Brown with Dots then the Rust is Crimped, I did that at an angle and it got weird on me!

These 3 I did up to CASE a card on SCS.. be darned if I could find it again! I used some of hte images I've gotten from friends. Colored them up using Koh-i-nor Pencils

This Mini Easel card is CASE'd too. My friend Laurie made one similar for my b'day and I really like this idea.

I followed the SU Color Coach all the way on this one.

That DS Paper is just something I found at my lss that I just had to have.

I used the Cricut to cut out all of the pieces, everything is 1/8" smaller than the last.

I used this card for a swap with the No More Drama Ladies and I sent one to my DSS Little Sister (shh she doesn't know who I am yet! )

Corrosive Challenge #80

I found something to do today!

 

A friend sent me many House Mouse images to color and I'd been playing around with my Cricut Cartridge "Story Book"

I figured if I lay it out just right I could cut around the image already stamped, then mat that.

Not bad! A bit off centered, but I can live with that.

Then I came across the Corrosive Challenge for Old Olive and Real Red.

Well since I'd already used Real Red for my mat... why not!

OMG! 

My older sister Teresa hand made this barrette for me.. for the wedding!

It's so beautiful, too bad my pony is in the back of my head, I wanna be able to see it!

Teresa thinks I should have Clint wear it on a neck tie.... I don't wanna share! LOL

I got a huge surprise from my Dork Sisters!

I received the biggest surprise in the mail!
The Dorks held a wedding shower for us and sent it on.

The Poem inclosed reads...

Does anyone remember Tri Chem?

My mom has tons of it from the 70's.
She gave me this wooden planted and I used my SU Craft inks to color it.
I Poly'd it so it can stay outside.

I'm sticky from the Poly and the inks seem to have bled a bit

Now as for the wedding questions...

(x) Cupcakes - figure I will bake them the day before so they are still fresh?????
(-) My attire, not a clue yet! Very unlikely I will wear a dress though
(x) Flowers - I planted 7 daisy plants plus God had a bunch behind my house I am hoping will be blooming the day of!
(-) Shoes - I HAVE to wear shoes? OMG No please don't make me! LOL
(x) Something Old - I have Clint's grandmothers wedding band, does that count?

Now another change.. Clint decide to toss out the Cupcakes and have 3 differnt cakes

3. A Fruity one (Lemon, Strawberry)

Not sure what I did with the pics I took of the baskets. But I have a wicker basket for cards, favors, programs and silverware
Each one is decorated with Gingham ribbon and Daisies

Christmas In June

My older sister Teresa wanted to have a family gathering at her place,,,, she called it Christmas in June
It is the first time all 5 of my mom's kids were together since my Grama's funeral in 2002
I got to meet a few Great Nieces and Nephews for the first time.
I will upload a slide show as soon as I get a chance

I know where all the Robin's are now!

They have all left the nest now, and there were 5 flying around my garden. So the missing little one must have left the day before the others were ready!
I sure will miss them, they had become  part of my routine, when I got home I'd check on the rabbits, then over to the Robins, and my geese.

I've lost 2 babies now... the one I know what happened, but I came home last night to another just missing. I looked all over on the ground.
When I peeked in the nest they jumped out! Scared the stuffing right out of me, I thought mom and dad were gonna beat me!.

I quickly picked them up and put them back int he nest. Dad swoops at me all the time, I can feel him move my hair he gets so close.

It's their fault for putting their nest in my garden in one of my flower pots. LOL

Santa told me, "Teach the Children"

I have loved this story every since I received it a forward joke in my email.

I used the Cricut Cartridge Joys of the Season (except for the bell) and Stretch your Imagination

I made it as a card a few years back using SU set with a Santa and 2 children.. if I use the story again, maybe nobody will mind it with the new design! LOL

We've settled on a date...

Well the date is set, the place is picked and the plans are moving right along.
 August 21st

Judy and Leon are hosting the whole thing at their place. They have such a nice yard surrounded by pine trees.

I have his Grama  Grace's ring, but we are getting tattoos once I get them designed, mine will have to work around grama's ring.

It will be very csual, country setting, almost picnic like. The colors are Blue and White, we will have Red and White checkered table clothes, old Blue Mason jars for vases, White Daisies with Yellow centers.

He wants his Maternal Grandparents as our wittness'.. he talks to them Thursday.

I found a wicker picnic basket and decorated it to match the invites.


I am not too fond of this picture, but the other I have with our eyes open, we are standing next to each other. I am 5' 5" and he is 6' 5" so.. yeah I come up to his belly button! LOL

Gotta CASE this one.. Well I did!

Karen Lynn inspired me on this one! She sent me a similar card for a man.
Looking at hers I imagined what could be on all the spots.. signatures!

So I cut it all out (thankfully a week before I got hurt) and mailed each piece to every (siblings, their kids and then even their kids) to sign.

Not everyone got the pieces back to me in time to present this to my om.. but I can always add them later! I just got 4 more in the mail today! YEA

I have spinners on the top, and the words coming down off the sides. "MOM" is on the bottome, "Grama and Great Grama" come down the sides.

One of my nieces lives in Germany, and I couldn't get her to sign the pieces so I put her and he children's pics on it.
