Wilber helps himself

Clint brought him home on Saturday, and he hid in the bathroom the whole day.
When I got home I took him to the living room and took out a toy for him. he played with it for a bit then crawled in the basket to help himself to a different one!
He went outside with me for a brief moment.. as soon as Orlando (the goose) hissed at him Wilber hightailed it back in the house!

Happy 38th Raye

Or is she 37? Oh well age is only a number... I know when she was born and when her b'day is! LOL

My sisters b'day is Thursday and I have made every card for her with a wolf on it.

Well, her only favorite color is black, so I felt limited and uncreative today!
Just not sure about those brads...

Mojo and my scrap box jumped out on this one! LOL
Thank you for the Mojo Sketch!

I used the Cricut, Storybook Cartridge.
Black and Very Vanilla Ink sponged around the edges.

VSBN October 2010

Hosted again by LMN "To complete My challenge you're going to have to imagine what it would be like to be floating by in the sky. Take your inspiration from the clouds and create a page with lots of white and a little blue...unless of course you're floating by in a rain cloud (LOL!)"

My step dad John made this airplane/bike for my son Joe way back in '95
Well needless to say he doesn't fit in it anymore!
Now it sits in my yard as a part of my garden!

Grampa had a real airplane, and Joey would pretend he was flying around their driveway in his.

Actually if you saw my VSBN Challenge page of the roses you can see it in the back ground!

The words are cut using the Cricut Cartridge Old West and the Number are from Story Book the third font is hand written

VSBN October 2010

Second Challenge was by LMN...

First, I want you to think of an everyday moment in your life that shoots you over the moon and on to Cloud 9... something that wouldn't be as obvious to everyone as, say your wonderful wedding day--something that needs a little explaining... a precious story that lies behind a photo you have in your stash.

Since we are thinking over things that fill our hearts with joy and LOVE, I want you to use either the color red or pink on your page in some way. This could range from the dramatic choice of a beautiful background paper or just the tiniest pop of color in a flower or heart you add to your page as a final touch.

And while we're at it, let's just go ahead and say that you should also include a heart somewhere on your layout... maybe a sticker, maybe a doodle included in your journaling or in your title.

Good things come in packages of threes! I want you to also use three different fonts, stickers/alphas (or three different types of handwriting) on your page to create your title.

One last thing to incorporate into your design: I want you to use a circle shape in some way on your layout. You could do this with something as simple as a button, a circle piece of paper or photo, or something more obvious, like a moon sticker--whatever works best with the mood and theme of your layout.

I can be in the crabbiest of moods, go outside and see any of my flowers and I feel better, but my roses this year... they have been been amazing. It has dropped down in the low 30's this month during the nights, and here this thing is budding new roses!

I cut them off and put them in water inside and they actually opened up! Then I got 3 more buds!

Basic Black for the base, Real Red heart, with "Our Roses" cut out of it using the Cricut
Handsome Hunter for 2010 cut with the Cricut
I used a Marvy Corner Punch with a heart on it using Handsome Hunter
The White Nestie in the corner is from my friend Holly! Thank you!! BTW That's my circle, not a real circle, but in my mind it works!

VSBN October 2010

The first challenge was by fmtinsley...
"My challenge to you is a recipe challenge. Use the following recipe and the sketch provided."
3 photos
3 colors
2 embellishments
1 punched border

total 9 elements

My Cloud 9 is Civil War memorabilia!
Doing the scrap book for the D.U.V. MN Tent 1 is an awesome experience for me.

These photos I am allowed to share since they do not contain any people or documents.

The Belt & Buckle on top belonged to an Officer of the GAR Grand Army of the Republic

The canteen was the property of a Union Soldier

and the box of medals is from a variety of places and people and organizations.

Glad I was able to work on the book (what I'm s'posed to be doing) and playing in VSBN!!

I did misread the instructions... I read 9 elements as 9 embellishments, so there are 3 photo turns and 3 star brads and 3 metal ribbons. At least I got the 3 photos!!!!

Real Red strip,  with metal Star Brads with Ribbons.and Photo Turns are from Oriental Trading

Night of Navy piece with stars punch out of the edge.

The clouds I cut out of Whisper White using the Cricut and they are Cuttle Bugged with Swirls then I sponged Bashful Blue over them

The background is Confetti White.

The nestie in the right corner is from my friend Holly... thank you!

19 October 2010

What's in your medicine cabinet?

I found this old medicine cabinet under the sink in our bathroom, the previous owners changed it at some point I guess.

I do not think I need any more ribbon! Well at least not until I find another cabinet! LOL

A OSW for October 2010

I created  a new One Sheet Wonder and I can not seem to  put the template on here.

But if you wanna see it you can go to the thread on Split Coast Stampers
One Sheet Wonder aka OSW

Here's 5 of the cards I've put together so far....

Mini VSN October

I did the challenges a bit out of order (lack of paying attention)  One challenge was to use the Spotlighting technique

Texan 947 When I first saw the theme for this VSN, I thought of one of my favorite sights. I absolutely love when the sky is gray and overcast and suddenly, there is a break in all those clouds and a little bit of sun comes through. I always think of it as a natural spotlight. So my challenge for you is to make a card using the spotlight technique
SU Card Stock and SU Bloomin Beautiful Stamp Set, Orchid Opalence Ink, Purple Dew Drops, SU Punches

GreyWolf's challenge....Make a card with soft cloud colors (like pale blue, pink, lavender) using pastels or chalks. For an optional treat, (not a requirement) use flower soft (or shredded Styrofoam) somewhere on your card if you have it. VSN challenges are so exciting that I sometimes get tense trying to think of ideas and get cards done in 45 minutes. Make a card that is relaxing to look at – but mostly just Have Fun!

So using SU Card stock, SU Pastels, Spica Pen for her nails, eyes and nose, House Mouse All Warm and Fuzzy Gruffies, SU Punches, The white ribbon with wire is from Michaels

schirmacat  My challenge is……for you to be inspired by the quote from above. Beauty is all around us...how does it inspire you? Please add something glitzee to your creation that shows the angels were involved-it might be shimmer paint/spray, glitter.....let it shine
I used Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder to do the falling snow, but you can not see it sparkle in the pic.

2ManyCookBooks  "Cloud 9 is such a fun concept. I think of dreamy and fun backgrounds and being the technique junkie that I am, I decided that my challenge to you
would be to use the Foxy Oxi technique to make a fun background for your card."
Stamps used are Hero Arts and Great Impressions

schirmcat showed three papers by Cloud Nine Designs
The challenge is: Make a card inspired by one of the papers...and add something sparkly to your project
My pic turned out crappy , but oh well!
Inside the card I have a candy upright in the top left corner and in the lower right corner I have a candy cane turned over for a J
Images from Clear Dollar Stamps and the paper is from Archiver's My Mind's Eye "I Believe"

11 October 2010

Mojo Halloween!

I wanted to use up some 'stuff' on my desk, and it seemed to work out well with Mojo Sketch 160

The DP is scraps form the last few cards I've done.
The Border is from a swap I'd joined.

Used the Cricut (again) for the words and Spider

Happy B'day Josh

This is for my Step Son Josh ... we are getting to meet him this coming weekend and his b'day is on Monday.

No idea what he likes, what his fave colors are or any of that stuff.

Hope he likes it!

I used Wild Life Cricut Cartridge, Flower Soft on the Goat.
Brayed the 'sky' with Black, Brilliant Blue and Night of Navy
Yukon is stamped behind him and on the sentiment.

10 October 2010

Simon Says "Boo!"

I did this for Simon Says Challenge "Halloween"

The little bats I cut out with the Cricut are inside the card.

Thanks for looking!

I had company!

I was putting some flower pots away for the Winter. I dumped  most of the dirt out into my garden and stacked the pots in the shed.
I got a bit of a surprise when I saw this 'tail' sticking out of a pot.

I kept poking at him until he stuck his head out and hissed at me!
How cute! trying to be all tough!!
