It seemed like a good plan when I saw the Corrosive Challenge #54, but now that it's made it doesn't seem quite cute enough for a 6 yr old!
and I see now that I was a week off on what I looked at! LOL

My birthday!

Well let me tell you what happened on Thursday at work.

We are in a strip mall and at the end is a sports bar and restaurant.
Well the owner, Dave came in at 9 with a box for me to ship and he left it with me to deal with.
I felt the price was a bit high so I walked down to confirm he was okay with it.
I also asked, "so you give free b'day drinks?"
He replies "for you?
"yep"
"Grab a glass fill it with ice and top it off with a splash of water!"
Brat! LOL
Well a bit later his wife comes in to send a fax and I tell her he's a meanie!
We laugh and I tell her why.
About 11 one of the cooks opens the door for Dave to bring a a huge box on the dolly. I am busy with someone else and he asked for my boss Dick anyhow.
Well then in comes Dave's wife and another one of the cooks, so I am now giving the one cook grief for not making my favorite soup for me. Misty says I need to go help Dave lift this box on the scale, they can't stand around waiting for Dick anymore.

I walk over and the bar tender JUMPS OUT OF THE BOX!
OMG!
He yells Happy B'day! and hands me a balloon, scared the stuffings right out of Dicks sister who is working with me! LOL

OH man it was so funny! This is the second time they have scared me.

Well Troy, the one in the box, scraped his knee while they were stuffing him in the box, and when he jumped out he head butted Dave (his boss)
So Troy has a boo boo on his knee and Dave has a black eye!

Cards for 9 yr old

My sister asked me to make her 2 cards for a couple of Creeps friends.
Since they are packing up and can not get to any of thier craft stuff.
I used up some Bugs & Kisses imagaes I have, Cricut, Platin Schoolbook and Walk in my Garden.
The girls card is done with the Stair Technique and the boys card is the Tri Shutter technique.

53" of piggies

I keep bugging Creep to give me his ceramic pigs. I don't think I really need anymore!
I always wanted a PIGGY Bank, not a bank of just any shape, but a PIG. Then it became the thing everyone seemed to give me.







In 2006 (I think) the Dorks got involved in some upset over the biblical part
"Pearls Before Swine" Matthew 7:6
and then Pigs became our mascot. Better yet, if they are wearing pearls!

Clint picked up a stuffed piggy that is wearing pearls, a necklace and earrings!

Sadly, Creeps bank got broke during the packing process. It was just too full!

Moose Relection

My first try at the reflection technique.. not an easy one I tell ya!! LOL

The VSN Challenge was for some sort of water scene, well here's water!

I made the whole card usng just scraps from my scrap box! Woo whooo!

It was a challenge for Stamp to Spend to take a card in your favorites folder and CASE it.
I got to use 3 stamp sets for this one, plus a punch, a few scraps and heat tool!
Can't wait to get my points tallied up! Woo whoo!

To honor these Winter Olympic athletes on Splitcoast Stampers, my challenge is……for you to make a free standing pop up card to represent the winner standing tall and proud on the winner's podium. There is now a video tutorial for this technique on the same page, which is fantastic!

Faith in Snow & Sky

This is for VSN, RAC SAC and SC265! # challenges in one card Woo whoo!



Super blue sky, lots of snow and the inukshuk.

This Olympic challenge to you is to create a card/layout/3D project inspired by this picture.
What does it mean? It needs to be blue and white - small traces of other colors are allowed too
And since we play for medals - you can get some bonus points for using something Gold, Silver or Bronze on your creation. Something = ribbon, marker, cardstock, charm, embossing powder, brads, buttons...

Snowblind Thankful Owl

All Whisper White!
Base, just normal. layer one is embossed with Snowflakes, layer tow is embossed with an Owl, layer three is embossed with Thanks. The bow is WHITE, and his eyes are white beads, oh and the center of the flower too!

Rolled Red Marble Tea

Rolled Stone Technique.. red ink on marbles over glossy card stock.
I think I got a bit carried away with the ink on this one! LOL

Each Winter Olympics has its own official sweater. The Lillehammer, the Torino, and others are designed by Dale of Norway. I've always wanted to created one of my own, but the time it takes to knit one is extraordinary.

This year, the Hudson's Bay Company has produced a contemporary twist on a traditional Cowichan sweater, which is a long-standing Canadian icon. Although there is a sweater designed by Dale of Norway, the Official Olympic Sweater for Vancouver is this one, and it is this sweater that is the inspiration for this challenge.

WHAT IS AN INUKSHUK?

The symbol you have seen everywhere for these Olympics is called an INUKSHUK (plural inuksuit) which is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans, used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America.
The inukshuk may have been used for navigation, as a point of reference, a marker for hunting grounds, or as a food cache. Inuksuit vary in shape and size, with deep roots in the Inuit culture.
Inuksuit continue to serve as an Inuit cultural symbol. For example, an inuksuk is shown on the flag and Coat of Arms of the Canadian territory of Nunavut, and the flag of Nunatsiavut. They also are increasingly serving as a mainstream Canadian national symbol thanks in part to these 2010 Winter Olympics.



I used Night of Navy, Barely Banana, More Mustar, Rel Red, Ballet Blue, Lovely Lilac and Green Galore all SU card stocks.
I have a Sizzix Embossing Folder with no name, it came with my Big Shot.
The stamp is SU Farm Life.

I could never match her hand work on this!

I was asked by my niece to make some cards with a Native American theme. so I searched the gallery here for idea.

I used the Cricut to do the shape (hexagon or is it an octagon)
then I CB each piece with DOTS, except of course the 2 I stamped on! LOL

I had to stack 3 Dimensionals behind part of the horse to raise him up even!

These are for a swap that is 10+1 but if you make 12 she will donate #12 to a good cause. so 12 it is!

I used Bazill card stocks for these.
The Cricut to cut out everything. Story Book Cartridge, the scalloped edge is a custom cut using that mat and a basic card welded together. The butterflies are CB with a Butterfly set, the mat is CB with the folder that came free when I bought the Big Shot (it has no name :( )

It is a card about 4 x 5 the flower is the front, then the envelope has grass and flowers

It's just my favorite OSW again, and the fish paper! I did use a different punch (Modern Label) and added some stickers.

Sentiments are blank for her to use how she wishes.

This is just Stampin' Up! Scraps. they are all sorted and in marked baggies with thier names on each one.


This is the bottom drawer under my desk and the most ignored! It's Color Core Scraps and prints (dp) ... Any one need some punches from scraps? LOL

l THis was a bad idea... it started out as just Whisper White and Very Vanilla Scraps. Then I strted tossing in any brand of white or cream. BAD BAD BAD! Nothing the same texture, weight or even brightness!

OMG! I had no idea just how much I had around here for scraps until I did this! I donated every last piece of scrap 2 years ago to the scrap booking store for others to use. I also do not keep anything too small to punch.

My Room Feb 2010

These are my punches, they hang on the door in a shoe organizer. I need a bigger one!

West side work area. That table is where I work the most. the sun really bothers my eyes at a certain time and then I have to go somewhere else. Clint says I should re-arrange and put the desk in front of that window. I am always complaining about my view and the sun! LOL I keep clearing a bit more of the woods to make my view more pleasant. and I can sit some place else when the sun is there.
I have even seen a Pileated Wood Pecker out this window! He was beautiful!


This is the West corner. My scrap books under construction are under that table. the sewing cabinet to the right has all of my 12 x1 2full sheets in the bottom drawer, ribbon in the middle and baggies in the top. The Big Shot and large paper cutter are on top

These are 2 of the book cases I got from Clint's dad. In the far right hand corner is an old Stereo.. record player and even an 8 Track. It works too! for me now it just makes a good shelf! That rocker belongs to my youngest son, Andy. He has a serious fetish for chairs! Now since he is living in MO teh fur babies fight over who gets to lay in it while I stamp.

This is my desk, the computer and Cricut are on top. Under neath are 2 drawer units, the one on the left is adhesives & scissors (rulers & other MISC) the right one is all scraps! :(

Just in the door on the East side.. the 3rd book case; all of the patterns, techniques, examples and other books are on there. The peg board hangs in front of the closet doorway (so we can still get in there) All of my stickles and glitters, and refills are in the baskets.

A Valentine Clint's Way

ScrappinCEO Kelly offered up a challenge ... Create a Valentine from non-traditional colors. No Pink or Red allowed




So I asked Clint, "if you made a Valentine Card, not using any red or pink, what color would it be?"
He picked these out of my scrap box.

He also picked the Easel Card for the base, the big hearts CB Folder, and the Hearts Die and CB folder.
(he bought those for my b'day last year)
The words are a Sizzix die that didn't work well with my Original Sizzix Machine... but boy was it nice in the Big Shot! I didn't have to snip any part of them!

The little Heart brads were in a assortment I got, never thought I'd use those!

I didn't make the box so that gave me another card!







I have left all the sentiments blank and not attached, I'm just not sure if i am using these for Easter cards or just whatever.

H & I are waiting for me to borrow the Modern Punch.

No ribbons or brads yet either.. again for waiting for me to make up my mind!

Birthday cards for February

I have a total of 9 cards to do for this month.

These are just the ones I took pics of... camera got lazy! LOL

My niece-in-law Adrianne's b'day is also in February.

One of my Dork Sisters sent me the images of the cupcakes, I just colored them.

The card stock is just scraps of whatever (used some stash! YEA!)



My niece Marla's b'day is the day after Valentines, this just seemed fitting.

I used the Cricket cartridge Walk in My Garden for the flower and welded it all into one card. (using the Cricket Design Studio)
For the Rose head I used Red Flocking, and then a piece of Mulberry torn for the front panel



This one is for my dd. I just can't believe my dd is going to be 25 this year.
I got the Cricut Cartridge Story Book today,
I really like the letters, but I think it may have been a poor choice to use them vertically on this card.

The Cuttle Bug I used was a custom made folder... I cute boots, hats, horses, horse shoes, cow skull.. and other things from Out West Cricut Cartridge... not going to make one of them again! I doesn't make a good embossed image

Cindy's Trees on an Easel

These are my cards for March CCC10



I got the idea for the trees from Cindy Motherway It's from a card she sent me back in '06. Hers was much prettier of course!

The paper I chose for the trees was a bad choice! It's more of a card stock and was not meant to be folded this way!

I cuttle bugged the mat behind the trees and for the sentiment.

I used Gold Stickles on all the folded edges of the trees to hide the 'cracked' paper. Please don't look to close, the folds do not line up! LOL My mom and I were visiting, I cut she folded.

I took a purple file out of the cabinet (hopefully no one will miss it! LOL) and a little notepad form the drawer.. well either my file is bigger than normal or the note pad is smaller. I followed all the instructions thoroughly and its so big! Cute though. I may have to make another!
